Sunday 30th September saw a large, peaceful crowd of pro-Remain protestors from all over the country and the Continent descend on Birmingham to coincide with the Tory Party autumn conference. EU in Brum organised the event in which an estimated 12,000 people took part. The event attracted coverage in The Birmingham Mail and The New European.

Bath for Europe fielded a team who ran into a number of familiar, friendly faces from the pro-Remain movement, including members of Swindon for Europe, Bristol for Europe, Devon for Europe and Cheltenham for Europe. All major political parties were represented in a show of strength as support for a #PeoplesVote steadily grows. Among the many excellent speakers were big names A.C. Grayling, Dr Mike Galsworthy, Femi Oluwole of Our Future Our Choice and Lord Andrew Adonis. We heard eloquent and passionate speeches from representatives of RemainerNow, Tories Against Brexit and Elena Remigi of In Limbo.

The crowd was dotted with iconic Bath berets aka bEUrets, EU flags and placards. Bath for Europe’s own Boris Johnson distributed loads of free money. It was an uplifting event and a taste of what we can expect at the #PeoplesVote march in London on 20th October. Bath for Europe is selling seats on its fifth coach. Be sure to join us to make this march massive! Help us send a clear message to the government and the media that we, the people, demand a final say on our future.
