Join us to raise a glass together, enjoy some festive food and games, see old friends and possibly meet new ones. We’re holding our St Nikolaus Day gathering in lieu of our monthly Pulse of Europe/EUcafe.
Traditionally, in German households, St Nikolaus leaves small presents such as chocolate, fruit or coins on the night of the 5th for children to find the following morning in clean shoes they have put out specially for the occasion. St Nikolaus, not to be confused with Santa or Father Christmas (known as Weihnachtsmann), was a Greek Christian bishop who died on December 6th in 346 AD. He is known as the patron saint of children.
