Hear from an actual international trade negotiator on how the various ways of leaving the European Union will affect us all, including trading solely on WTO rules.
Jason Hunter is a former international trade negotiator, with billions of pounds of deals under his belt. Specialising in the legal and commercial relationship with the EU, UK and World Trade Organisation (WTO), he will talk about the impact trading solely on WTO rules would have on the UK, in addition to where he thinks we are actually heading.
Highly sought after by both industry and governments, Jason is also regularly called upon by the mainstream media as a commentator. In his career spanning 20+ years, he has not only negotiated countless deals, but has also worked and lived in many countries, and been called on as an expert witness by the Hong Kong government in an international trade arbitration case.
Jason is also due to give a talk at the WTO in Geneva in the coming months, the very organisation he will be talking to us about during the evening.
Another international trade negotiator, Stuart Brown, will also be talking about no deal and policy implementation. Amongst his many roles, Stuart has helped accession countries align environmental policies with the EU, assisted in implementing EU regional programmes, EU High Level Policy Adviser to the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Moldova. Preparing and planning the implementation of provisions relating to trade and sustainable development in – The Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between the EU and Moldova, – the EU Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.
